Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Tomas Pojar says that the European integration of the Western Balkans is a priority for his country’s EU presidency. Pojar is on a two-day visit to Belgrade, where he will meet with Foreign and Defense Ministers Vuk Jeremic and Dragan Sutanovac. Prague supports Balkan integration “We are doing our utmost to move the process of visa liberalization forward and I hope that in 2009 we will have good news. But I cannot promise anything because there are a lot of conditions that Serbia must fulfill,’ the minister told B92. “There is an old homework assignment that concerns Hague Tribunal cooperation. If that happens, we will, as the presiding country of the Union, honor all of our promises. Continued European integration is in Serbia’s best interest, in the interests of all the countries in the region, but also of the European Union itself,” he concluded.
