Serbia's full cooperation with the Hague Tribunal does not necessarily mean Ratko Mladic's arrest and extradition, says Sweden's foreign minister. "Full cooperation leads to complete success, but it is necessary to first achieve full cooperation," Carl Bildt told Vecernje Novosti, according to an article in the daily this Saturday. "Full cooperation is not Mladic" "Only once you achieve full cooperation, can you hope to achieve the goal, and that is to arrest and extradite, regardless of whether this happens in the near future or at a later time." He also said that "recognizing Kosovo's independence" will not be a condition for Serbia to join the EU. Sweden is taking over the rotating EU presidency in July this year. As for the unfreezing of an interim trade deal between Brussels and Belgrade – which is part of the suspended SAA signed in April last year – Bildt said this was possible, but that there are "currently differences" over the issue within the union. He also said that work is being done for the 27 member states to reach a consensus on this question. Holland is blocking the deal, and the SAA, conditioning it with Serbia's full cooperation with the Hague. Holland considers Mladic's arrest and extradition to be "full cooperation".
