Israel's ambassador to Serbia Arthur Koll says that his country wants peace with all its Arab neighbors, including the Palestinians. "Hamas is responsible for the latest conflicts in Gaza. For the past eight years they have sporadically fired missiles at civilian targets inside Israel. This is what most of the world media is emphasizing, but there are also strongly anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic reports," the ambassador told reporters during a conference in Novi Sad on Tuesday, dedicated to the Holocaust. Ambassador: Israel wants peace According to him, some in the international community are applying double standards when it comes to Israel. "There are wars in various parts of the world, terrorism is ravaging India, Iraq, Indonesia, even Spain, there is constant tension in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Chechnya, and yet only Israel and its actions become subjects of UN Security Council sessions," the Israeli diplomat, who served in Washington and London, said. Koll also pointed out that every country has a right to fight for its survival and that the same goes for Israel – the United Nation's 48th member-state.
