Montenegrin Foreign Minister Milan Rocen said that relations with Serbia have improved since the falling-out after Podgorica recognized Kosovo. “Serbian President Boris Tadic gave a statement recently which was welcomed in Montenegro,” he told daily Vecernje Novosti, adding that “respecting the fact that such a stance is coming from the most important address in Serbia, Montenegro cannot begin procedures for naming a new ambassador to Serbia based on that". "Relations between Montenegro, Serbia improving" “I do not think we have to rush, on either side,” Rocen said, adding that it is most important that “relations are not deteriorating”. “The In Montenegro and in Serbia everyone publicly, and in other instances, evaluated the work of our ambassador Anka Vojvodic with highest marks. We will see how the situation unfolds, in any case, I believe in the future of the best possible relations for Montenegro and Serbia,” he said. Rocen said that all the names that were lately heard mentioned as candidates for the new Montenegrin ambassador to Serbia “were either a result of someone’s wishes or basic speculation.” Tadic recently said that after Belgrade expelled Vojvodic, "the first move" was up to Podgorica, who should appoint a different ambassador. Rocen also said that Montenegro will establish "diplomatic relations with Kosovo soon”. He said that Montenegro has show that it acts " honestly and essentially" when it comes to cooperation with Serbia and all other neighbors. “We in Montenegro understand that good neighborly relations are one of the conditions for European integration. We hope that all our neighbors will understand that and act accordingly,” Rocen said.
