"EULEX must be neutral until solution"
Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanović says that EULEX must be "status-neutral until a new dialogue is started on the Kosovo status subject".

Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic says that EULEX must be "status-neutral until a new dialogue is started on the Kosovo status subject". "The issue of Kosovo's status is open, and until a compromise has been reached, there must be the rule of law in the province, and living conditions must be created first and foremost for the Serb and non-Albanian residents who are in danger," he told Vecernje Novosti daily in an interview published on Sunday. "EULEX must be neutral until solution" Bogdanovic said that the EU mission, EULEX, will have implementation of the six-point plan agreed on by Belgrade and the UN ,and proposed by UN chief Ban Ki-moon, as "its key role". "Besides creating a safe environment for Serbs and other non-Albanians, if they [EULEX] wish to prove it in the field, will have to work to suppress crime and solve many old court cases that have not been solved in the past nine years," Bogdanovic said, and explained that the criminal cases that should be processed mostly have Serbs as victims. He also said that EULEX will be deployed in the whole of the province and that its members will likely be in their position starting Dec. 9, replacing UNMIK in the Serb-dominated north. Bodganovic however said that activities on the ground in the Serb areas will "probably start considerably later, once trust of the Serb residents has been established".
