Daily Danas writes that the Socialists are insisting on the appointment of ex-Yugoslav President Zoran Lilic as head of the JP Putevi Srbije (Roads of Serbia). The news would appear to belie earlier reports that the ruling coalition had reached an agreement on the allocation of positions in the public companies. “SPS wants Milosevic ally to head public company” Under the deal between the Democratic Party (DS), Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and G17 Plus, the DS would get three companies to every one allocated to the SPS and G17 Plus. G17 spokesman Nikola Papak said that an agreement had been reached for G17 to keep the same position in the public companies that it had in the last government. SPS spokesman Djordje Milicevic said that consultations on who would head the board of directors in each of the public companies were still ongoing, and that a statement would be released once an agreement was reached. Speaking to daily Danas, Danica Draskovic, wife of Serb Renewal Movement (SPO) leader Vuk Draskovic, has denied that she has been offered the Telekom presidency, adding that she is only interested in heading the BIA Security Institute.
