The UN Security Council session on the reconfiguration of the international civilian presence in Kosovo will be held on Wednesday, RTS reported. The Serbian state broadcaster was quoting its diplomatic sources last night. UN SC Kosovo session on Wednesday? UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is expected to submit his report on the reconfiguration. The EU's mission, EULEX, would then be able to deploy at the start of December. B92 has learned that the plan would leave UNMIK only in Serb-dominated areas, while the newly established EULEX would deploy in all of Kosovo. According to information obtained by some Kosovo Serbs, UNMIK has already been prepared for the reconfiguration. A document, dubbed UNMIK 2, says that a minimal number of UN personnel will remain, while vice-president of the Serb National Council of Kosovo Radmila Trajkovic says that the mission's chief will be European, and that no American officials will in the future take part. She also believes that EULEX's arrival would benefit Serbs in Kosovo, "above all because they would finally have institutions of the rule of law". EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said on Friday, after a meeting with Ban in New York, that he expects the report to be published at the start of next week. Diplomats are saying that Ban will likely report that sufficient agreement had been reached for EULEX to take over some of UNMIK's powers. Earlier this month, the secretary-general proposed a six-point plan regarding the issue of reconfiguration and EULEX deployment. While official Belgrade accepted it, the Kosovo Albanian leadership rejected the plan.
