Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) will not support an initiative to put the government to the test with a vote on no-confidence in parliament. This was revealed by leader Cedomir Jovanovic in an interview for Belgrade's Vecernje Novosti on Saturday. LDP won't back no-confidence debate The rest of the opposition, according to Jovanovic – whose party has 11 MPs in the 250-seat parliament – is requesting something that "reflects the policy that was defeated at the elections". "We will not topple the government without any clear vision for the sake of a policy with a clearly wrong vision. We don't want to replace Mirko Cvetkovic, who is incapable of offering new ideas, by Kostunica, who wants to go the old way after three months of sleep," Jovanovic was quoted as saying. He added that without the LDP, "its energy and vision a debate on the government would be a waste of time because not a single specific and important proposal would be heard in it, and therefore this story is doomed to failure, not because of the quality of the government, but because the policy symbolized by the proponents of the initiative is obsolete".
