Vojislav Kostunica will initiate talks between opposition parties to urgently put forward a no-confidence motion against the government. The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader explained that that he urges the move over the announced deployment of the EULEX mission in Kosovo. DSS pushes for no-confidence vote "The current authorities have refused to include a discussion on Kosovo in the agenda of the Serbian parliament for more than four months, while at the same time negotiating secretly and behind the parliament's back about recognizing the EULEX mission for implementing the independence of Kosovo," read Kostunica's statement delivered to Beta news agency. Since the government wants to recognize EULEX without a discussion and approval from parliament, he said, opposition parties are duty-bound to launch a no-confidence motion to establish before the people the government's accountability for recognizing EULEX. "The government is concealing the talks on recognizing EULEX from the people and the parliament, seeking a way to convince citizens - in fact to deceive them, that Ahtisaari's EULEX is allegedly status-neutral," the head of the DSS said. In his opinion, the no-confidence motion debate will be "an opportunity to discuss if EULEX is working on implementing the constitution of the independent state of Kosovo or not."
