The parliament restaurant in Belgrade appears to be immune to price hikes and inflation in the country, newspapers are saying. This means that MPs, who earn about four times the average Serbian monthly wage, enjoy the benefits of the official restaurant prices which have remained unchanged for the past two and a half years. Untouched by inflation, MPs enjoy cheap meals Blic daily explained the menu for its readers in a report published today, to reveal that a beefsteak, that would set ordinary Serbians back anywhere between RSD 450 and 1,000 in a Belgrade restaurant, costs RSD 260 in the parliament eatery. The cheapest on the menu are the soups and salads that cost as little as RSD 30 and 15 respectively. All this, the newspaper says, means that a lawmaker can buy a full, rich meal, including desserts, for RSD 400, or some five euros.
