U.S. Ambassador to Belgrade Cameron Munter, on a visit to Nova Varos, said that the U.S. would continue to support both Serbia and Kosovo. The U.S. government program for Serbia is worth over USD 50mn, and Munter believes that foreign investors, who have seen there is political stability in place, will begin investing in the Serbian provinces in ever greater numbers. That kind of mission will make Kosovo stable, and stability in the region is something we all want. And we’re convinced that it will happen,“ stressed the ambassador. Asked about the possibility of a partition of the province if all else fails, he said that Kosovo’s status had been resolved and that the U.S. opposed any partition.
