MUP says it's taking steps to establish the facts linked to the weapons found yesterday near Belgrade's Blue Bridge. The Interior Ministry says that the public will be informed about the outcome of the investigation in due course. Weapons discovery linked to Djindjic case? After an anonymous tip-off, the police discovered five grenades, five pistols and three bullets in the proximity of a petrol station near the bridge, on the Nis-Belgrade highway. The petrol station is on the route taken by police vehicles when transporting those accused of murdering the late Zoran Djindjic from the District Prison to the Palace of Justice, where the Supreme Court is considering the defendants’ appeals. Senior Belgrade police sources have confirmed to B92 that an investigation has been launched to establish whether the weapons found on the highway were connected in any way to the accused in the Djindjic murder case. The Interior Ministry stated that for security reasons, the route was changed on a daily basis. The appeals process led by the defendants, and headed by first-accused Milorad Ulemek, has been ongoing for over a week now before the Supreme Court.
