The Velika Plana Municipal Court has received a report on the car crash involving former Interior Minister Dragan Jocic. According to District Prosecutor Vesna Ivanovic, she received the report from experts at the Traffic Faculty in Belgrade. She said that the Velika Plana police station had received a written request on September 5, asking for an interview with Jocic where “notes would be taken regarding information received from members of the public.” The prosecution said that it was important for Jocic to give his version of events, since the former minister had yet to talk about the crash. Jocic was injured on January 25 on the Belgrade-Nis highway, when the car in which he was traveling, in the passenger seat, hit a dog and swerved off the road, flipping over several times. The driver, Mirko Damjanovic, was also injured. The Interior Ministry formed a nine-member commission to investigate the circumstances of the crash, which was led by Smederevo Police Chief Dejan Popovic.
