Olli Rehn believes application of the interim deal with Serbia would send a positive message to Belgrade. “Our belief is that there are very powerful reasons for the EU Council of Ministers to take a decision to activate the transitional trade agreement. We've received evidence that Serbia has reached a satisfactory level of cooperation with the Hague Tribunal,“ said the EU enlargement commissioner in an interview with Novi Sad daily Dnevnik. The commissioner also said that reaching the decision to implement the Interim Trade Agreement with Serbia would have a decisive effect on Serbia's next progress report on cooperation with the Hague Tribunal, a document due yo be presented by Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz, who will travel to Belgrade on Wednesday.
