Serbian language students from 30 countries are in Belgrade for three weeks of seminars. The international meeting, dedicated to Slavistics and Serbian language, literature and culture, was opened at the Belgrade University's Faculty of Philology on Tuesday. Slavistics seminars open in Belgrade The seminars guarantee the preservation of the Serbian language and represent the "point of cultural contact" enabling an exchange of knowledge, culture and energy, Culture Minister Nebojsa Bradic said at the opening ceremony. The International Slavistics Center of the Belgrade School of Philology has organized the event for the past 38 years. In that time, the seminars were attended by 3,350 students, whilethis year's participants include those from Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Greece, Bulgaria, Russia, Belarus, Spain and Hungary.
