President Boris Tadic on Monday ended his visit to Beijing, where he attended the opening of the Olympic Games. During his five-day visit, Tadic held a number of meetings with world statesmen, "the most important one with China's President Hu Jintao, with whom he had agreed to promote bilateral relations between the two traditionally friendly countries", Tanjug news agency says. Tadic ends Beijing visit today Describing the Olympic Games as a festival of not only sports but politics as well, Tadic used the opportunity at the reception held by President Hu for about 100 world officials to lobby, together with Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, for Serbia's initiative at the forthcoming session of the UN General Assembly, the report from Beijing said. Serbia looks to gain support of 96 UN member states to seek an opinion of the International Court of Justice on Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence.
