Last night, a group of Albanians physically attacked two Serb KPS officers near Kosovska Mitrovica. Milija Milosevic, the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) commander for the town’s northern police station, told Beta that during a routine control in the village of Suva, the police had flagged down a vehicle which, rather than pulling over, had merely accelerated and driven off. Serb members of KPS assaulted The police set off in pursuit, but another vehicle blocked their way near a bridge at Suvi Do, where a group of some 40 Albanians attacked the police, leaving them with head injuries, said Milosevic. He added that the officers had received medical treatment in Kosovska Mitrovica Health Center. According to local Serbs, the situation in Suvi Do is tense as a dispute has been ongoing for 10 days or so with local Albanians over the construction of water pipeline through Serb property intended for Albanian villages on the other side.
