A group of men who said they were friends of a murder victim caused an incident in Zajecar yesterday. A man, identified as Sasa S., known to the police for his criminal activities, was shot and killed at the side of a local pool yesterday. Mob attacks reporters at scene of murder When MUP officers arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation, his friends gathered there first attempting to prevent them, and then turned to assault the television crews present. The attack on journalists took place close to a uniformed policeman who secured the scene. Since the officer was unable to protect the reporters on his own, he was joined by Zajecar MUP inspectors who managed to secure safe passage for the journalists. However, the mob once again harassed the television crews from B92, Pink and Avala televisions in front of a local agency premises used by these media companies. They tried to obtain the tape with material filmed at the scene of the murder, and also threatened to kill journalists if they reported about this incident. Police have been informed about the assault.
