The DS and the SPS have reached a firm agreement over forming a local authority in Belgrade, to be supported by the LDP, writes Blic. It is reported that during talks over the formation of a government, Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic directly agreed to replicate their cooperation at state level in Belgrade and for the new mayor to be Dragan Djilas, his deputy Milan Krkobabic (PUPS), and the assembly speaker to be from the ranks of the SPS. "DS, SPS reach firm agreement in Belgrade" Blic writes that that agreement will be implemented via two separate agreements—the first to be signed by the DS and the SPS, and the second between the DS and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), without whose support a new minority local government in Belgrade would be impossible. The LDP will participate in the government indirectly, by receiving a number of places on the boards of public companies run by the DS, claims the paper, adding that the LDP has confirmed that it has reached a basic agreement, but dismisses rumors that it is interested in the public companies. Under the agreement, the SPS and PUPS would terminate their coalition agreement with the Democratic Party of Serbia and the Radicals in Belgrade immediately after the election of a new republic government.
