Head of the EC delegation to Serbia Josep Lloveras says the future government should start accessing the economic privileges in the SAA. At a meeting with member-companies of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, Lloveras said that the benefits within the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) needed to be directly promoted to Serbian citizens in order to improve their lives, through the new European funds, and through the creation of new jobs. EC: Serbia to access SAA benefits "We hope that a new Serbian government with a clear pro-European orientation will be formed soon, and that it will follow the road map prepared by the caretaker government,” said the head of the European Commission (EC) delegation. He said that he expected that in future there would be less talk of politics, and more about the economy, reforms and concrete steps towards European integration. Head of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for Serbia Dejan Cvetkovic said that the stability of the business environment for investors in the country represented the basis for the resumption of reforms. "We firmly believe that the resumption of European integration is an important step for Serbia, but also an important factor in the development of an investor environment for the establishment of macro-economic stability that the investors seek,” Cvetkovic said. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Serbia is made up of180 foreign and domestic companies that have invested over USD 6bn and employ over 60,000 people in Serbia.
