The majority of the DS presidency believes that the party’s nominee for prime minister should be Bojan Pajtic, but leader Boris Tadic has the last say, writes daily Blic. The Democratic Party’s (DS) leader in Vojvodina won most votes at the party’s main board meeting yesterday, followed by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, with Finance Minister Mirko Cvetkovic coming in third. Dusan Sutanovac and Dusan Petrovic will probably retain the positions of defense and justice ministers, respectively. Snezana Malovic is also in contention for the Justice Ministry, should Petrovic switch to the Finance Ministry. This is the most interesting ministry because, if Cvetkovic becomes prime minister, there is a chance that Ministry Secretary of State Janko Guzijan might be offered the post of finance minister, or Bozidar Djelic, who held the position during the Zoran Djindjic government. If Vuk Jeremic is elected prime minister, the Foreign Ministry would be led by Ivan Vejvoda, while former Speaker Oliver Dulic would head the new EU Integration Ministry.
