A prosecution spokeswoman for Belgrade District Court’s War Crimes Chamber says all threats made against the Prosecutor’s office are thoroughly investigated. Jasna Sarcevic-Jankovic said before the beginning of a public debate, “The Face of Justice” in Uzice, that those threats were something that the police should deal with. She added that the threat had not frightened the prosecution which, regardless of the threats, would keep doing its work. The public debate in Uzice was dedicated to the importance of war crimes trials in Serbian courts, as well as facing up to war crimes that were committed “to us and to others.” The public debate was organized by the War Crimes Prosecution in association with the Belgrade District Court’s War Crimes Chamber and the OSCE mission in Serbia.

Prosecution: All threats taken seriously

Following the sixth threat to the War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukčević, deemed to be “very concerning”, she said that all threats were taken seriously by the Prosecution Office.

She added that the threat had not frightened the prosecution which, regardless of the threats, would keep doing its work.

The public debate in Užice was dedicated to the importance of war crimes trials in Serbian courts, as well as facing up to war crimes that were committed “to us and to others.”

The public debate was organized by the War Crimes Prosecution in association with the Belgrade District Court’s War Crimes Chamber and the OSCE mission in Serbia.
