A Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) spokesman today accused U.S. Ambassador Cameron Munter of "putting together Serbia's government". Andreja Mladenovic spoke in a news conference in Belgrade when he said domestic tycoons were also taking part in this, but stopped short of naming any names. DSS: U.S. ambassador putting together Serbian govt. Mladenovic has for several days now been repeating that foreign ambassadors and business tycoons are the ones "forming the next cabinet in their meetings at various business clubs". Today he added that the DSS, led by outgoing Premier Vojislav Kostunica, expects a clear answer from the Socialist-led coalition, regarding a legal analysis of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA). The DSS said last week in the document its legal experts put together that the deal with the EU was legally invalid. "We expect an answer from the SPS. We are not out to rush anyone, we have no reason for that, but this answer is certainly expected in the coming days," said Mladenovic. He also expressed his party's "readiness to exchange arguments" and engage in "dialogue and compromise in the interest of the state and nation". Asked to comment on media speculation about the fate of the SRS-DSS-SPS deal sealed on the local Belgrade level in case these parties fail to put together a new government, Mladenovic said it will be up to the party organs to decide whether to make any changes, and added that the agreement signed in Belgrade is "rock solid".
