Serbian police (MUP) have arrested a Raiffeisen Bank Kragujevac branch cashier suspected of stealing close to EUR 1.5mn in cash.

Serbian police (MUP) have arrested a Raiffeisen Bank Kragujevac branch cashier suspected of stealing close to EUR 1.5mn in cash. The man, whom the police have identified as Aleksandar S., 29, placed the money in a bag at around 10:00 CET Saturday morning. Cashier walks out of bank with EUR 1.5mn The bank's other employees only discovered that the money was missing in the afternoon. Investigative Judge Slobodan Svilkic, who has taken over the case, told reporters in the central Serbian town that the man also left a letter, "apologizing to his boss for the theft". Late on Saturday, policemen located and arrested the suspect in a cafe in Kragujevac, but the money has not yet been recovered.
