After meeting with the SPS and DSS, SRS deputy leader Tomislav Nikolic said there will be "no rough or brutal annulment of the SAA.” At a press conference Nikolic said that the new government would discuss the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), and would ask the EU to insert a sentence stating that Kosovo was a part of Serbia into the agreement. Nikolic: SAA will not be annulled "During the campaign we said that the new parliament would decide on the SAA, and that is a satisfactory solution for the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), while I’ve read statements from the Democratic Party Of Serbia-New Serbia (DSS-NS), saying that they won’t try to annul the agreement, but will begin talks on partial changes, in line with rules that the EU respects when it comes to other countries,” Nikolic explained. The SRS leader described his meeting today with DSS, SPS, and Associated Pensioners' Party (PUPS) leaders Vojislav Kostunica, Ivica Dacic and Jovan Krkobabic as “very serious.” Nikolic added that there had been nothing during the last week that could “divide” the three parties, and that the formation of a new coalition was closer than ever. The SRS deputy leader said that under the deal, Kostunica would be prime minister, while he himself would become parliamentary speaker. Tomislav Nikolic (FoNet)
