Trade unions apologize to Tadić

The Independent Trade Unions, SSS, have apologized to President Boris Tadic for inappropriate conduct during a May Day protest in Belgrade, adding that it was "staged". In a letter to Tadic, the Union states that, as the protest’s organizer, it feels great responsibility and embarrassment for the uncivilized behavior of certain demonstrators, adding that the whole incident had been staged. Trade unions apologize to Tadic The letter adds that, besides union members and invited guests, the protest was attended by a number of people whose intention was to create an incident, and that following subsequent analysis of footage from the protest, it was impossible to identify a single individual involved in the incident as a member of the union. “The Union greatly appreciates your concern for the trade union movement in our country that you have expressed a number of times at sessions of your Presidency, by joint signing of a Protocol on Understanding, as well as your support for the signing of a General Collective Agreement,” reads the letter.
