In the wake of the serious threats sent to Boris Tadic, the president’s security measures have been raised to the highest level, writes daily Blic. The Defense Ministry, the Serbian Army and the Military Security Agency, responsible for the president’s safety, have taken new measures following appraisals that the threats are extremely serious, the daily reports. Daily: President's security on high alert “The Defense Ministry has already taken all the measures it can relating to the safety of the president. I expect the state to finally take measures to ensure the legal security of its citizens, and for the judicial organs to begin suitable activities,” said Defense Minister and Democratic Party (DS) Vice-President Dragan Sutanovac, refusing to comment on Blic’s reports that the president security level had been raised to the maximum. The minister, however, confirmed that the threats directed at President Tadic were very serious, and stressed that certain politicians were responsible because of the messages of hate that they were spreading. “Those messages have practically opened a competition now for some new sniper to carry out the sanction justified by hate speech,” Sutanovac said. According to him the responsibility lay primarily with the leaders of those parties that use hate speech—namely, Vojislav Kostunica and Vojislav Seselj. “In democratically developed societies, such parties would be sanctioned by the court and the electorate,” Sutanovac pointed out. “In democratically developed societies, such parties would be sanctioned by the court and the electorate,” Šutanovac pointed out.
