Ramush Haradinaj yesterday welcomed the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) between Serbia and the EU. The former ethnic Albanian Hague defendant and the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo said the development will secure stability in the region. Haradinaj welcomes SAA signing Haradinaj was speaking to reporters after a meeting in Pristina with Presevo municipal president Ragmi Mustafa. He told reporters that "Albanians from the Presevo Valley should take part in the Serbian elections". "We are welcoming the signing of the SAA between Serbia and the EU. Brussels and the EU monitor the events in Serbia and continue to keep an offer on the table which, when accepted by Serbia, will create stability in the region," Haradinaj was quoted as saying. Mustafa also said the SAA signing was a good development, "which will positively influence Serbia's recognition of Kosovo". Last month the Hague Tribunal found Haradinaj, a former KLA warlord and subsequently Kosovo's prime minister, not guilty of war crimes charges, which included murder, torture, kidnapping and rape of Kosovo's Serbs, Romas and Albanians in 1998.

Haradinaj was speaking to reporters after a meeting in Priština with Preševo municipal president Ragmi Mustafa.
