Canak cuts interview short, throws reporter out At one point Canak took the tape recorder from the table, turned it off, took out the tape and crushed it in his hand, and threw it on the floor, Beta news agency said. He then and "began wielding his cane and threw the journalist out of his home". According to Nikolic, the question put to him was as follows: “Mr. Canak, you state very clearly that these parliamentary elections are a referendum between Europe and isolation, which is why you joined the coalition ‘For a European Serbia - Boris Tadic.’ But there are uncertainties among the members of the public whether you accept the policy of the DS regarding Kosovo when you entered the coalition. Oliver Dulic confirmed that for us in an interview, but this was later denied by LSV official Aleksandra Jerkov." After this, Canak accused the journalist of “using the same methods used by Vojislav Kostunica," took the tape recorded and told her to leave his apartment. Canak himself requested the interview to take place in his home, because of his impaired mobility since a traffic accident several years ago. Canak later sent a letter to Dnevnik Editor-in-Chief Petar Petrovic, in which he said he is “shocked by the level of dirty campaigning and the measures that its journalists are willing to take in the services of the Democratic Party of Serbia.”
