An NGO representing Kosovo Serb families has asked the government to take firm steps over the allegations in Carla Del Ponte’s book, “The Hunt”. The Association of the Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons in Kosovo wants concrete measures taken in order for KFOR, UNMIK, the Hague Tribunal and the Albanian government to allow Serbian authorities to speed up the investigation, find and help release the kidnapped, and recover the bodies of the victims. NGO calls on Belgrade to intensify "body parts" inquiry The Association said in a statement that the request had been sent to President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic based on the information published in the former Hague chief prosecutor’s book. The Association proposed that the UN secretary-general be sent a request to order, form and send a UN commission, based on international acts, that would investigate the allegations of murders, torture and experiments on people, deliberately causing suffering and grievous bodily harm, and illegal deportation and imprisonment of persons protected under the Geneva Conventions. In the request, the Association pointed to data on organized crime, illegal prisons and arbitrary arrests in the territory of Albania, as received by Amnesty International. The request underlined the need for the Serbian authorities to get in touch with Amnesty in order to get its reports on these developments in this country.
