Luka Pejovic, identified as the hitman by an eyewitness in the Slavko Curuvija murder case, was a member of the Special Operations Unit (JSO), writes daily Blic. Pejovic is suspected to have been assigned to kill Curuvija, the owner of daily Dnevni Telegraf because during the NATO bombing, the majority of JSO members were engaged in other missions. It is believed that Pejovic was chosen from within a group of JSO members earmarked for “dirty jobs.” JSO suspected of Curuvija murder Ratko Romic, member of the State Security Police (DB) is suspected of driving Pejovic and fellow State Security operative Miroslav Kurk to and from the scene of the crime, says Blic’s source. Pejovic was killed in December 2000.
