Holland is prepared to soften its stance on the SAA, Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen told Serbian state television RTS today.

Holland is prepared to soften its stance on the SAA, Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen told Serbian state television RTS today. Verhagen said that Holland would allow Serbia to sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), provided the government promised not to ratify or apply the agreement before full Hague cooperation was achieved. "Holland prepared to soften SAA stance" Yesterday, the minister told B92 that full Hague cooperation was a necessary condition for continuing Serbia’s European integration. He said that Holland, in cooperation with other EU member-states, had formulated conditions that had to be met in order for Serbia to take the next step towards EU association. Speaking to B92 Editor-in-Chief Veran Matic, Verhagen said that Holland would be very happy to sign the SAA with Serbia once Belgrade achieved full cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. Yesterday, the minister told B92 that full Hague cooperation was a necessary condition for continuing Serbia’s European integration.He said that Holland, in cooperation with other EU member-states, had formulated conditions that had to be met in order for Serbia to take the next step towards EU association.
