Serb justice workers are continuing their protest in front of the District and Municipal Courts in Kosovska Mitrovica. They wanted to be allowed to return the jobs from which they were dismissed with UNMIK and KFOR’s arrival in Kosovo in 1999. Justice workers maintain protest Deputy District Public Prosecutor Nenad Trifunovic said that their demands and negotiations with UNMIK officials had yet to bring any results. “No progress whatsoever has been this week. On Monday, we had a discussion with UNMIK justice representatives, but that was just a discussion, not negotiations,“ Trifunovic pointed out. He said that in the days to come, or even next week, he expected discussions to continue or negotiations to start. “We’re staying here until our demands are met,“ the prosecutor declared. KFOR troops are currently stationed around the courthouse behind a barbed wire barrier. The protest will resume on Monday.
