PM Vojislav Kostunica opposes the creation of a Steering Group for the implementation of the Ahtisaari plan in Kosovo. In his words, the announcement yesterday represents "a most brutal violation of international law, U.N. Resolution 1244 and the Serbian Constitution." Kostunica condemns Steering Group "This arbitrary and illegal International Steering Group has appointed Pieter Feith to the non-existent position of international civilian representative," reads a statement by Kostunica sent to Beta. He emphasized that it is necessary for UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who is responsible for implementing Resolution 1244, to announce who, when, and on the basis of what legal foundation decided to form the uninvited International Steering Group and appoint an international civilian representative. Koštunica condemns Steering Group

"This arbitrary and illegal International Steering Group has appointed Pieter Feith to the non-existent position of international civilian representative," reads a statement by Koštunica sent to Beta.
