The Sandzak Democratic Party (SDP) has condemned the Culture Ministry for financing weekly Sandzak News. In a statement, the SDP said that the weekly, which was presented in Belgrade on Wednesday and which is co-financed by the Culture Ministry at the recommendation of the Bosniak National Council, was “under the direct influence of Sulejman Ugljanin’s party.” Culture Ministry causing storm in Sandzak “It’s not a minority mouthpiece, because what we have here is a classic party paper which was even published during the nineties as a mouthpiece of the Party of Democratic Action, and which was known for hate speak, intolerance, political, minority and religious exclusivity,” says the SDP. The party says that it is particularly concerned by the gratitude expressed by the Bosniak National Council to Culture Minister Vojislav Brajovic for his support for moves to withdraw Novi Pazar's Regional TV and TV Tutin from privatization. The SDP states that those two TV stations serve as a means for the lowest form of party propaganda in Ugljanin’s hands, and ask his coalition partner, the Democratic Party (DS), to say “in whose name, on whose order and why it is being done.” The party has called Culture Ministry officials to account, and has warned that if the DS fails respond soon, it will “reconsider relations with our coalition partner.”
