Bosnian Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj said that “no country in the world had asked Bosnia to recognize Kosovo,” and that Bosnia-Hercegovina would support any agreement reached through an agreement between Pristina and Belgrade. According to Alkalaj, “If Kosovo declares independence, Bosnia will most probably be among the last to recognize an independent Kosovo.” The two ministers said that their respective countries were fostering “good neighborly and friendly relations” and were cooperating well at a regional and multilateral level. The aim of the meeting in Sarajevo was to consider all matters of common interest which are to come under scrutiny this year at a meeting of deputy foreign ministers and the Bosnian Inter-State Committee.
