The DSS-NS, SRS and SPS parliamentary groups have withdrawn their request for an emergency session of parliament to be held. The session was supposed to be dedicated to considering the proposed “illegal dispatch of the EU mission to Kosovo and rejecting the interim political deal that the EU offered Serbia.” Emergency session request withdrawn The Serb Radical Party (SRS) and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) agreed to withdraw their signatures from the initiative signed together with the Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia (DSS-NS) coalition on February 5, following yesterday’s agreement between the president, prime minister, and parliamentary speaker. On the basis of that agreement, parliament will consider “the decision to annul illegal acts taken by the temporary self-government institutions in Kosovo to declare unilateral independence” that the government is due to adopt at a meeting on Thursday, February 14. Tomorrow, MPs are due to reach an agreement with Speaker Oliver Dulic over calling two sessions, one where President Boris Tadic would be sworn in, and another dedicated to the issue of Kosovo. Both sessions are due to be held in the next few days, and according to reports, the swearing-in could be held on Thursday or Friday, while the Kosovo debate will take place at the weekend or on Monday.
