Serbian police, MUP, today said they confiscated heroin worth EUR 300,000. The illegal drugs are of high purity, and were meant for the Slovenian market, Belgrade MUP Narcotics Department chief Dragan Rakic told a news conference in the capital Sunday. Police seize EUR 300,000 worth of heroin The police have identified the smugglers arrested during the operation at the Uvac border crossing with Montenegro as Alija Djerlek, 57, and his wife Rabija Djerlek, 52, both originally from Novi Pazar, and both now holding Slovenian passports. According to Beta news agency, Rakic said that the heroin was found in 10 packages, and that the raid was coordinated by officers from Novi Pazar and Uzice. But beside its street value, the agency did not report on the exact amount of the drugs confiscated.
