Dragan Djilas expects the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) to support Boris Tadic in the second round of elections. Djilas, a leading Democratic Party (DS) official, told B92's Poligraf last night that he felt that voters allied to Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica’s party would support the incumbent president on February 3. DS seeks Kostunica support in round two He added that he also expected the support of those who had backed New Serbia and Liberal Democratic Party leaders, Velimir Ilic and Cedomir Jovanovic, in round one, as the alternative was to vote for Serb Radical Party candidate Tomislav Nikolic, who was merely “a representative of Vojislav Seselj.“ According to the DS official, there was no problem over Serbia signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) as one of the principles on which the government was formed was the resumption of European integration. “Kostunica voted in favor of signing the SAA with the EU, and his pro-European orientation is clear,“ said Djilas, head of the DS’s main board in Belgrade.
