The Serb Unity Party (SSJ) will decide today at a meeting of its main committee whether to join the Serb Radical Party. The SSJ was founded in November 1993 ahead of parliamentary elections by paramilitary commander Zeljko Raznatovic, better known as Arkan, who was murdered in Belgrade in January 2000. Arkan's party mulls joining SRS The party pulled off a big surprise in the December 2000 parliamentary elections, gaining 200,000 votes and 14 seats. The SSJ’s vice-president then was Dragan Markovic, aka Palma, who founded his own party in February 2004, United Serbia. The SSJ is now led by Borislav Pelevic.

The SSJ is now led by Borislav Pelević.
