About 90 U.S. soldiers will deploy in the north of Kosovo in the coming days, reports say Tuesday. They will be stationed at camp Notting Hill in Leposavic. U.S. troops in northern Kosovo KFOR regional spokesman Laurent Laroche told Tanjug that the arrival of American troops in the north was "not linked to the process of resolving the status of the province, but was part of regular troop rotation." The U.S. soldiers will remain in the Serb-inhabited area for about a month, Laroche said. They will take over from Hungarians officially on Thursday. The KFOR spokesman also confirmed that two days ago deployment of German troops from the NATO reserve battalion started in the region. The Germans are expected to stay there until December 20. "They have been deployed in the entire region of northern Kosovo. This action has been planned and it is nothing new. It is a kind of exercise, and its aim is to show NATO's fast reinforcement capacity," Laroche said. A total of 16,000 KFOR troops are stationed in the province.
