Abkhazia will refuse conflict resolution mediation services from countries that recognize Kosovo independence. Abkhazian Foreign Minister Sergey Shamba, whose entity seeks independence from Georgia, made the announcement on Monday. Abkhazia threatens to follow Kosovo's lead "Countries that apply openly cynical double standards in recognizing Kosovo independence while setting obstacles to deny our own, will not be able to take part in the Georgia-Abkhazia negotiating process in the role of mediator," Shamba said in an interview with the Itar-Tass news agency. "We will discontinue the mediation services of such countries," said the foreign minister of the breakaway Abkhazian republic. At the same time, he reiterated that the Kosovo prime minister was openly threatening to declare independence after December 10. "That would lead to serious consequences," Shamba warned.
