Another 29 people infected with hepatitis A have sought treatment at the Nis Infection Clinic in the last 24 hours. Eight people in a serious condition have been kept in the clinic for treatment, said clinic Director Zarko Rankovic. More hepatitis cases in Nis There are currently 39 people undergoing treatment at the clinic, while since October 26, when the outbreak began, 532 people have been admitted, Rankovic said. “Last week we were receiving about 50 people per day, now that figure is smaller, but the epidemic, because of the long incubation period, will last,” he added. Rankovic said that a high level of personal hygiene was the best way of avoiding infection, adding that measures implemented now needed to be continued even after the epidemic was over.
