Ivica Dacic says Serbia should recognize the Republic of Srpska as an independent state if Kosovo opts for unilateral moves. "If there is a unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence, meaning, outside of the UN Security Council, Serbia must clearly say that it will then recognize an independent Republic of Srpska," the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SRS) told a local Jagodina television station over the weekend. He also said his party respected the Dayton peace deal, "because it was created by the SPS and Slobodan Milosevic," but noted there was an ongoing process of creating a unitary state in Bosnia, "an attempt to cancel the three people's and two entities' equality." "The process in Serbia is opposite, where we have an attempt to break Serbia up. The international community needs to decide which concept it supports," Dacic said.
