The government has forwarded a proposed Law on the President to parliament for urgent adoption. The proposal stipulates the president's position, the features of his mandate, conditions for performing functions and powers, and election rules. Parliament to consider Law on President According to the proposal, the president is an executive body that, according to constitutional provisions, expresses Serbia’s state unity. The president’s position and powers are stipulated by the Constitution and Laws on Defense, the Army, Foreign Affairs, the Constitutional Court, Decorations, and others.
