Milorad Dodik says the RS is preparing a democratic response to B-H High representative Miroslav Lajcak’s measures. “The Republic of Srpska (RS) will react suitably, in its full capacity, and will show the international community in a democratic manner that we know what democratic procedures are, and that we cannot tolerate despotic conduct,” the RS prime minister told RS Television last night. RS preparing response to Lajcak move To recap, Lajcak has decided to alter the decision-making processes within the Council of Ministers and the Bosnia-Hercegovina (B-H) parliament. The RS prime minister said that such moves promote the values of the alleged international community, in their desire to create a system of one-nation domination – that of the Bosniaks – to the detriment of all the others. He called a session of the executive board of the Union of Independent Social Democrats where the high representative’s measures will be considered, and where a decision will be taken to show that “we have character and dignity.” He said that Lajcak’s actions had violated the B-H constitution and shown that it was impossible to “have faith in the international community, who only a few years ago, by increasing the number of ministries within the B-H Council of Ministers, had suggested as part of a compromise increasing the number of votes required for majority approval of decisions.” “Now Lajcak blatantly wants to reduce that threshold. We consider the move a con, and we refuse to turn a blind eye to it and accept the explanation we’ve been given,” said Dodik. He said that the RS had been turned into “a cheated party that can be experimented on,” adding that the entity had been punished in spite of having demonstrated good faith and successful reform. The high representative’s decision, which envisages a reduction of the threshold of votes required for rulings to be passed in the Council of Ministers and the parliament, has been viewed in the RS as opening the possibility for Serb representatives to be outvoted in those institutions. To recap, Lajčak has decided to alter the decision-making processes within the Council of Ministers and the Bosnia-Hercegovina (B-H) parliament.

The RS prime minister said that such moves promote the values of the alleged international community, in their desire to create a system of one-nation domination – that of the Bosniaks – to the detriment of all the others. He called a session of the executive board of the Union of Independent Social Democrats where the high representative’s measures will be considered, and where a decision will be taken to show that “we have character and dignity.”
