Under an agreement with adviser to the PM Slobodan Lalovic, ex-reservists will meet today with a government delegation. One hundred or so former servicemen from the Toplicki district have been conducting a protest for over a month, demanding to be paid wages owed to them dating back to the Kosovo conflict in 1999. Government to meet ex-servicemen Strike leader Dejan Milosevic told B92 that the reservists were hoping for a speedy resolution to the dispute. “We’re expecting a positive response from the government, to solve this problem and see justice done. If things are not settled to our satisfaction, we will radicalize our protest and call on all Serb veterans to join us,” said Milosevic. He said that, if necessary, he would appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Major Zeljko Surbatovic, arrested in Nis, is still in custody on suspicion of paying certain reservists much higher wages than they were entitled to. Veterans protest (FoNet)
