Nenad Canak called on activists to gather in Novi Sad in opposition of the Neo-Nazi meeting on October 7. The nNeo-Nazi organization Nacionalni Stroj has received permission to hold a rally on October 7, in Novi Sad. Canak calls for opposition to neo-Nazi rally “If the regime does not prohibit this gathering, the neo-Nazi vermin must be crushed and stamped out once and for all,” the leader of the Social Democrats of Vojvodina said. Canak said that the rally was scheduled to coincide with the birthday of former SS commander Heinrich Himmler, who was directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands during World Word II on the territory of the former Yugoslavia and Serbia. “I am calling on you to once and for all deal with this cancer in our society, before it fully sets in,” Canak said. He also called on state institutions not to allow Nacionalni Stroj to form a political party and accused the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) of supporting the registration of such a party. “If they are registered, it will be clear that the Democratic Party of Serbia stands behind them,” Canak said, adding that the DSS “wants to form such a party in order to have someone on the political scene to appear even more extreme than their own brand of Clerofascism.”
