Policemen leave Kosovo despite probe

Participants in the demonstrations, staged by Kosovo Albanians’ radical Self-Determination movement on February 10, died of their wounds sustained after police fired rubber bullets at the crowd which broke through a police barrier in front of the Kosovo government building.

After extending their tour in Kosovo for a month, 75 Romanian policemen left the province Wednesday, despite UNMIK’s request for 11 of them to stay on until April 6, in order to continue cooperation with investigators.

UNMIK also expressed regret at Romania’s decision not to comply with the request.
