Cabinet talks continue

“The post of a prime minister is not so important if you attain other instruments of power. If Koštunica is given the premiership, the Democratic Party of Serbia will have to give up the Ministry of the Interior and other departments which bear major political influence”, Blic quoted its sources as saying.

The DS got the support of the international community which insists that the minister of the interior and the heads of the civilian and military intelligence services come from a party other than the DSS. As the same source reveals “The international community no longer trusts Koštunica’s people”.

Today’s meeting will gather the closest associates of Tadić and Koštunica. The two men will not yet meet to discuss the issue of the new government.

“G17 Plus expects three ministerial seats”

In an interview for the weekly NIN, G17 Plus leader Mlađan Dinkić said that his party would occupy three ministerial seats if the number of ministries remained unchanged. In case of possible enlargement of the government, this party expects to lead as many as four ministries.

“G17 Plus, being a serious political party, intends to assume responsibility within the governmental departments trough which it may realize its vital pre-electoral promises: to keep domestic currency stable, to achieve balanced regional development, to create more job opportunities for the young and to strengthen the middle class”, Dinkić concluded.
